Sarkis Hamalbashian (Armenian)

Born in 1956 in Gyumri, Armenia. Sarkis Hamalbashian graduated in 1975 from the Panos Terlemesian Fine Art College in Yerevan, Armenia. During the Post-Soviet period he emerged as one of the most important artists working in Armenia. Hamalbashian has held various international solo and group exhibitions:  Contemporary Art from Armenia 80-95, Central House of the Artists, Moscow, 1995; Artists of Armenia and the Diaspora, Cité des Beaux Arts, Paris, 1995. His works are in major private collections around the world as well as in the Museum of Modern Art in Yerevan, Armenia.
